D.2.1.4 Flood exposure maps for Ravenna and Kaštela test sites - Interreg Italy-Croatia 2021-2027

This report summarizes the results of deliverable 2.1.4 of the Interreg Italy-Croatia STRENGTH project (Activity 2.1). This deliverable was developed based on the flood maps produced for Ravenna in D.2.1.1 and focuses on the creation of an exposure map, identifying which land uses and territorial elements fall inside those inundated areas. The assessment was based on the most recent flood maps, which were calculated using the 2023 Total Water Level scenarios with 3% coastal slope and the three return-period classes already defined in D.2.1.1: i) 1–25 years, ii) 50–100 years, and iii) 150–500 years. The exposure maps were obtained by vectorizing the flood extents in QGIS and intersecting the resulting inundation polygons with the Emilia-Romagna land-use layer, so that flooded surfaces could be quantified by sector and land-use class.
