Collection unit habitat type (MaP)
收藏资源简介:
Habitat types of the Habitats Directive (Annex I) in Baden-Württemberg Natural habitat types (LRTs) of Community interest are listed in Annex I to the Directive. In order to preserve or restore them to a favourable conservation status, special protected areas must be designated and nature conservation measures must be taken. Baden-Württemberg is part of the continental biogeographical region and has a rich natural environment. Of the 91 habitat types found in Germany, there are 53 (including 14 priority) in Baden-Württemberg. All habitats in Baden-Württemberg are characterized by their location conditions and centuries of human activity. Among them there are habitats that are still to be regarded as close to nature or largely natural, such as natural and natural raised bogs. They occur in Baden-Württemberg mainly in the foothills of the Alps and in the Black Forest. Other LRTs were only created by traditional man-made farming methods such as mowing or extensive grazing and today shape the landscape of many regions. These habitats include, for example, species-rich grasslands, which are widespread in Baden-Württemberg, especially in the Black Forest, the Swabian-Franconian Forest and the Odenwald. Baden-Württemberg has a special responsibility for some LRTs, such as for the lean lowland meadows or for the juniper heaths with the distribution focus on the Swabian Alb. These different habitats are home to a diverse range of flora and fauna. A change in their location conditions causes a change in the species composition. The habitats thus play a decisive role in the preservation and development of the biological and thus also the genetic diversity of our nature and cultural landscape.
