Molecular Barcode Dataset of Chiroptera in Guangdong Province

As of July 2024, Guangdong Province had recorded 61 species of Chiroptera across 8 families and 24 genera. In this study, specimens were identified, organized, and screened through morphological and morphometric analyses, as well as molecular barcoding techniques. The final molecular dataset of Chiroptera in Guangdong includes 55 species from 8 families and 22 genera .Controversial species, such as Pipistrellus ceylonicus, were omitted from the dataset due to a lack of reliable reference data. Ultimately, 130 samples were selected for dataset construction. Through DNA extraction and Sanger sequencing, this study successfully amplified 119 Cytb gene sequences and 117 COI gene sequences.
