Dataset, Source Code, and Models for: Deep Learning-based Plant Disease Detection using YOLOv8

This repository contains the complete dataset, source code, trained model weights, and evaluation results required to replicate the findings of our research paper submitted to PLOS ONE. The study evaluates the performance of a proposed YOLOv8 model against baseline models (DenseNet121, ResNet50, and BNN) for plant disease classification. The repository is organized into four main directories containing the external validation datasets, Python/shell scripts, trained weights (.pt and .pth), and detailed CSV performance metrics with confusion matrices.
