资源简介:
In support of the Ethiopian Ministry of Health’s pilot introduction of the self-injectable contraceptive method, DMPA-SC SI, this study aimed to identify and address quality gaps in implementation of this method in public sector facilities in select sub-cities in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Specific objectives were to: (1) determine the competence of clients to self-inject DMPA-SC, (2) assess the experience of DMPA-SC self-injection users, and (3) document the experience of family planning providers delivering self-injectable contraceptives. This dataset includes individual client-level data of all 419 family planning users who were initially screened by providers as potential study participants. Those included in analysis are those who consented to participate, were eligible for the study and completed self-injection training (n=400). Enrollment survey responses for these 400 participants are included in the dataset, along with their corresponding assessment of self-injection filled out through provider observation. These data are linked to participants’ follow-up survey responses and self-injection observation checklist at follow-up if they were eligible and completed these study components. Data were collected between August 2021-April 2022.
