LOW DENSITY FIBER PAPER CONTAINING HYDROPHOBIC NANOFIBER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low density fiber paper which has been difficult to produce by common fiber papers， in fiber papers manufactured by wet type papermaking method， without limiting manufacturing methods and without using special chemical agents (bulking agents， hollow particles， etc.) nor special mechanical installations， also to provide a low density fiber paper which is useful as a filter material requiring flame resistance and heat resistance by employing at least one of fibers other than hydrophobic nanofibers included in the fiber paper as a pulp-like fiber of an aramid fiber. SOLUTION: In a fiber paper manufactured by a wet type papermaking method， this invention provides a low density fiber paper characterized by containing a hydrophobic nanofiber as an essential component and further containing a fiber other than the hydrophobic nanofiber as a constituting component; the fiber paper has low density， hence is useful as a building material such as a heat insulator and a soundproof material， etc.， or an adsorbent material such as a filter material.
