资源简介:
Data set to accompany the paper titled: Geomorphically Mediated Carbon Dynamics of Floodplain Soils and Implications for Net Effect of Carbon Erosion. The data set includes soil texture properties, total carbon, fallout radionuclide Caesium-137 and moisture content for three cores from the active channel belt of the river Culm in the SW of the UK, 11 cores from the lowland floodplain and 39 surface sediment samples collected after flooding events. Data from additional analysis of selected samples for aggregates (following wet sieving), density fractionation and stable isotope 13C is also included.Estimated sedimentation inputs of carbon was calculated using a Monte Carlo analysis of the silt and clay content of the cores, this data combined with a vegetation input of either 0, 3.24 or 5.15 t C ha-1 y-1 was decayed using RothC decay coefficients - outputs of the modeled soil carbon content are included in the data set.The final component of the data set is the output of a floodplain evolution model using an estimated sediment addition rate of 2.5% carbon to model total carbon stored in the floodplain. Full methodology is available in the accompanying paper.
