scylla. serrata was chosen as female broodstock and S. paramamosain as the male broodstock for the hybridization experiment. In the crablet stage I hybrids, the eyestalks of normal crabs are located separately and symmetrically, one on each side of the head. However, during the hybridization process, we found some crablet stage I deformed crabs whose eyes were located in the middle of the head and protruded forward close to the antenna.
