Maine Well Database - Well Yield

The dataset consists of point locations of domestic wells reported to the Maine Geological Survey. This dataset is based on an original survey of well drillers in the 1970s, a voluntary well driller reporting program in the mid-1980s, and the present mandatory reporting program which relies on the submission of well information by drillers. Wells have been located using GPS coordinates submitted by the drillers, e911 address information submitted by the drillers and/or ownership data and tax records. Roughly 40% of the wells reported to MGS have location data so there are many that aren't located. Data updated 1/26/2026本数据集涵盖报送至缅因州地质调查局（Maine Geological Survey，简称MGS）的民用水井点位坐标信息。本数据集依托三类数据源构建：20世纪70年代针对水井钻井从业者开展的首轮普查、20世纪80年代中期的自愿式钻井信息报送项目，以及当前由钻井从业者提交水井相关信息的强制报送机制。水井点位通过钻井从业者提交的全球定位系统（GPS）坐标、增强型911（e911）地址信息，或所有权数据与税务记录进行标定。目前向MGS报送的水井中，仅约40%带有有效点位数据，仍有大量水井尚未完成点位标定。本数据集更新于2026年1月26日。
