The series consists of registers used to allocate a patient’s Unit Number at the Royal North Shore Hospital. A patient was allocated a Unit Number which was used as a unique identifier for other medical records.The bound volumes are arranged in numerical order in increments of 25,000 records. For example, one volume is numbered 175,000 – 200,000.The columns for each page include a stamped unit no. (number), patient name, admission date and ward.
