Bladder cancer is the most prevalent urologic malignancy and contributes significantly to the global health burden. PROS1, a vitamin K-dependent protein, is essential for stopping blood clotting and encouraging the breakdown of fibrin. We here report PROS1 act as an inhibitor of bladder cancer progression in bladder cancer cell lines J82. The overexpression of PROS1 inhibits the proliferation, cell cycle progression, migration, invasion, and angiogenesis in J82 cell lines, which can be reversed by depletion of PROS1. In addition, our RNA-seq data reveal that genes with altered expression due to PROS1 overexpression were predominantly involved in the PI3K/AKT signaling pathway.
