Identification of recurrence biomarkers in over 40 year’s women with lymph-node-positive primary breast cancer

Several studies provide genes expression characteristic correlated to recurrence in breast cancer patients with lymph node negative. However few reports mentioned about the gene expression file in patients with lymph node metastasis confirmed during surgery, of which the cumulative incidences of relapse are more than 50%. A total of 37 patients were followed up for more than 5 years. Sections of formalin-fixed paraffin embedded (FFPE) were prepared from breast tumors and well preserved. Twenty-five FFPE samples of ductual breast cancer patients with recurrent cancer and 12 FFPE samples of ductal breast cancer patients with no recurrence were analyzed the gene expression difference. Cancer tissues with ER positive or negative status were determined by immunohistochemistry method. All patients had positive lymph nodes confirmed during surgery and accompanied with lymphocytic invasion. All patients began to take Tamoxifen medicine after surgery and continued for more than 5 years or until cancer recurrence. All patients in this analysis had received chemotherapy treatment.
