Original data

This dataset contains quantitative data extracted from measurable figures reported in published literature, together with the corresponding source images used for data extraction. The uploaded materials include digitized numerical values, figure images, and associated metadata documenting the source publication, figure identifier, extraction method, and relevant notes. The purpose of this dataset is to make literature-derived quantitative information on biodiversity loss more accessible, reusable, and transparent for further analysis, comparison, and reproducibility. The data were extracted from figures in peer-reviewed publications related to biodiversity loss. Each record is linked to its original publication and figure whenever possible. Users should consult and cite the original publications when using these data. Quantitative values were obtained from figures that contained measurable graphical information, such as curves, scatter plots, bar charts, or other plotted data. Image-based digitization was performed using WebPlotDigitizer. When necessary, axes were calibrated according to the scales shown in the original figure. Extracted values were checked manually to reduce digitization errors. The repository includes: * Digitized quantitative data extracted from literature figures;* Source or reference images used for extraction;* Metadata describing the original literature source, figure number, variable names, units, and extraction notes;* Additional files documenting the structure and interpretation of the dataset, where applicable. These data are derived from previously published figures and may contain uncertainty associated with image resolution, figure quality, axis calibration, and manual digitization. Users are encouraged to verify critical values against the original publications before use. This dataset is intended for research, review, meta-analysis, model comparison, and reproducibility purposes related to biodiversity loss. It does not replace the original publications, which should be cited appropriately.
