Traits analysis of saproxylic beetle assemblages in protected and managed forests

This project investigates the impact of forest management strategies on the genetic diversity and functional trait distributions of saproxylic beetle assemblages. By comparing populations within protected areas and managed forests, we aim to understand how habitat continuity and resource availability influence the genetic structure and ecological roles of wood-decaying beetle communities.The genetic data generated here supports a broader analysis of beetle traits to assess ecosystem health and conservation priorities in forest environments.This research is supported by the OPUS grant 'Population genetics of saproxylic beetles assemblages in protected and managed forests.
