Whole Genome Re-sequencing of selected rice accession with contrast responses to salinity stress

Salinity is a major concern that limits rice production. Hence, there is a need to develop salinity-tolerant rice varieties. Prior to developing a salinity-tolerant rice variety, there is a need to identify the genetic variant contributing to that particular trait. Hence, we carried out whole genome sequencing of five selected rice accessions with contrasting responses to salinity and identified the variants, particularly SNP and InDel, between tolerant and sensitive accessions.
