Market Access and Agricultural Productivity in Sub-Saharan Africa: Evidence from a Dynamic Panel Approach

This dataset was used for the study “Market Access and Agricultural Productivity in Sub-Saharan Africa: Evidence from a Dynamic Panel Approach.” The dataset is a balanced panel of 42 Sub-Saharan African countries covering the period 2012–2023. It was compiled from publicly accessible sources, and it has along with it a regression output table of the main results and a README file describing variable definitions, data sources, and estimation procedures. Empirical analysis employed dynamic panel estimation techniques, including System Generalized Method of Moments (System-GMM), to interrogate market access effects proxied by mobile phone subscriptions and trade openness on agricultural productivity in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA)
