Using RNA sequencing and differential expression analysis, we identify 376 upregulated and 180 downregulated genes in leukocytes of aged mice compared to young controls. Gene Ontology and KEGG pathway enrichment analyses reveal significant involvement of these differentially expressed genes (DEGs) in blood coagulation, platelet activation, myeloid cell differentiation, and wound healing processes. Notably, treatment with dexmedetomidine, an alpha2-adrenergic agonist with sedative and analgesic properties, in young mice mimicked the "aging-like" gene expression patterns observed in aged mice. This finding suggests a potential role of alpha2-adrenergic signaling in modulating inflammaging-related transcriptional changes.
