Contemporary approaches to sustainability governance by Australian local governments: Planetary health in the Blue Mountains

This project contributes to conceptual development of planetary health using the Blue Mountains population as an empirical case study to understand citizen perspectives and values associated with health, wellbeing, and nature and the implications for using planetary health in sustainability policy. The project also analyses the sustainability governance approaches of seven Australian local governments to develop a perspective on contemporary leading practice in 2022.

There are 3 data sets derived from 1) surveying and 2) interviews.
1) Surveying: qualitative data from a questionnaire. Data will be stored in a spreadsheet (.CSV), with each survey location having its own spreadsheet. Each spreadsheet will be named according to the location, and "surveydata", e.g. Blackheath_surveydata. Each data point (questionnaire participant) will be identified by site and number. E.g. Blackheath1.
2) Interviews: Qualitative written data (meeting transcriptions). Interviews will be transcribed into Word documents (.doc), with each interview having it's own document. Each document will be identified by the organisation of the interviewee and date (DDMMYYYY) of the interview, e.g. BlueMountainsCityCouncil01012022.
