Metataxonomic and Immunological Analysis of Milk from Ewes with or without a History of Mastitis

The objective of this work was to characterize the milk microbiota of ewes of Manchego breed, one of the most iconic Spanish breeds of sheep and which milk is used to produce the famous Manchego cheese, and to compare samples from animals with and without a history of mastitis. For this purpose, milk samples were collected from two different farms and analysed using both culture-dependent and -independent techniques. Parallel, several immune compounds were also analysed in the milk samples.
