Supplementary data v13 — comment texts (restricted access): "Who Hosts the Ritual?"

Restricted-access companion to the supplementary data package of the article “Who Hosts the Ritual? Platform-Native Festive Participation and the Spring Festival Gala on Weibo” (Journalism and Media, Special Issue “The Ritual Functioning of Online Media”; public data package: https://doi.org/[a fő rekord v13 DOI-ja]). This record holds one file, Supplementary_data_v13_texts.xlsx, which is identical to the public workbook except for three columns of the Coding_full_v4_2 sheet: the full text of each of the 645 coded comments as transcribed from screenshots (Chinese, with stickers and attached images marked), the excerpt recorded at collection, and the transcription note. These columns are withheld from the public package because a verbatim comment is searchable and can lead back to the account that posted it, even though account names are not released anywhere (Section 3.9 of the article). The file exists so that the hand coding, the lexical counts and the text-based sensitivity analyses reported in the article can be verified against the text that was coded. Access is granted on request to researchers for verification and scholarly use, on condition that no username is reconstructed and no comment is republished verbatim.
