Digital Archive from a Geophysical Survey at Castle Donington Community College, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, October 2024

This collection consists of a report, vector graphic, GIS and geophysics data from a geophysical survey by SUMO Geophysics. Work occured at Castle Donington Community College, Castle Donington, Leicestershire, in October 2024.The magnetometer survey has not recorded any magnetic responses that could be interpreted as being of definite archaeological interest except for ridge and furrow cultivation which is visible in Area 1. Two bands of increased response have been assigned to the category of uncertain, they are probably due to natural or modern processes. A former field boundary, a former trackway and a system of land drains are visible across the magnetic data. The route of a former service pipe has been marked in Area 2. Zones of magnetic disturbance and strong ferrous responses in the data have been caused by goal post foundations and a former cricket square. The sites historic use as an allotment garden and current use as a playing field have added to the magnetic noise.
