miRNA levels during mammary gland development

The aim of the project was to analyse the levels of miRNA at different stages of mammary gland development in mice, and to determine miRNAs differentially expresssed between stages. Inguinal mammary gland were sampled from C57/BL6 mouse mammary glands at stages of adulthood (week 10), pregnancy (day 18), lactation (day 3) and involution (day 7) and snap frozen. Tissues were reduced to powder in liquid nitrogen, and small ARN were extracted using the mirVana miRNA isolation kit following the manufacturers instructions (Thermo Fisher Scientific).
