DNA methylation state of H. hispanica BREX mutants

Single-molecule real-time (PacBio) sequencing data were generated for Haloarcula hispanica strains carrying targeted deletions of genes from a Type V Bacteriophage Exclusion, or BREX, defense system. These data were used to analyze genome-wide DNA methylation patterns and to assess the role of individual BREX components in host defense. The dataset provides a resource for studying archaeal DNA modification systems and virus-host interactions.
