About the DatasetMultichannel Surface Electromyography Dataset of Facial Muscles During Speech (MEFaM-I). The MEFaM-I dataset is a free resource containing surface electromyography (sEMG) signals from the facial muscles of healthy individuals. It has been collected to study facial muscle activity during speech in the Persian language. This dataset was prepared as part of a doctoral dissertation, with all data recorded during the first half of 2022 using eight surface electrodes (Surface EMG Sensors). The primary goal of this dataset is to evaluate the activity of facial muscles while volunteers are speaking. For data recording, the Biometric DataLog MWX8 device was used, which features eight active channels for acquiring sEMG signals. The sampling frequency was set to 1000 Hz, and the data were stored in .MAT files, which are typically accessible using MATLAB software.To facilitate ease of use for researchers, the data are also provided in text (.TXT) format. Each folder contains files related to a single participant, including:.MAT and .TXT files containing raw sEMG signal data,An .MP3 audio file for each participant,An Excel file with additional participant information.This structured dataset allows researchers to efficiently explore and analyze the data.For more information, refer to the MEFaM-I Dataset description file.
