Here, to identify genomic changes underlying the transition from non-dysplastic epithelium (simple hyperplasia, ESSH) and ESD to ESCC, we performed WGS, WES and target sequencing using paired samples (ESSH, ESD and ESCC) derived by microdissection from the same individuals. The purpose of this study is to describe the genetic background of ESCC patients as well as to determine the genomic alterations events that contribute to the carcinogenesis of ESCC.
