Bacterial community in gut, shell sediment, and surrounding water of Hyriopsis cumingii fed three different microalgal diets

High quality microalgal diet is not available for pearl mussels (Hyriopsis cumingii). Here, westudied effect of different microalgal diets on the gut, surface sediment, and surrounding waterbacterial community of pearl mussels using Illumina high throughput sequencing. Our resultsreveal that Scenedesmus dimorphus is a good microalgal diet for H. cumingii. We believe that ourstudy makes a significant contribution to the literature because our results can aid in theestablishment of intelligent breeding model for H. cumingii, achieve sustainable development,and increase the yield of pearl mussels.
