Philosophy. This manuscript is now IO Bijapur 160A in the India Office collections. Size 83/4 in. by 53/4 in.; foll. 71. Twenty-six lines in a page. Glosses on Dawwânî’s Commentary on the Tahdhîb. The Author is Mîr ABU’L-FATḤ Sa’îdî (d. about A.H. 950). See Ḥ. Kh. ii. 480, and Cat. St. Petersb., p. 69, xciv.2. Begins: الحمدلله على تهذيب المنطق و الكلام ‘ و الصلوة و السلام على اعرف المعرفين بطريق الاسلام‘ وآله الحج(الحجج.r) الموصلين الى كل مرام‘ قوله هو الوصف بالجميل الخ الباء اما صلة للوصف الخ. The epilogue, to which Ḥ. Kh. alludes, begins here: هذا آخر ما يتعلق بقسم المنطق من هذا الكتاب‘ و حل ما فيه من المباحث و الابواب ‘ و قد بقى قسم الكلام منه متواريا بالحجاب‘ فلو وجدت نسخة من الخ. 1 Written chiefly in a clear Naskh, towards the end of the tenth century,2 with marginal notes. Scribe, ‘Abd al-mu’min. According to an ill-written note at the end, this copy, text and notes, was taken from a MS. which had been revised by the author. The text of foll. 15-17 is in a state of confusion. There are slight defects after foll. 2 and 44. The title-page has the following inscription :هذا شرح على حواشى للعلامة الدوّانى يدفع الغواشى عن التهذيب و حاشية لما يقصده الشارح الجارح و الحمد على التوفيق. The book is, however, wrongly described as شرح تجلیلات در علم حقایق و سلوک by a more modern hand ; cf. Cat. 232, xxiii.   1 The text of the following passage is rather incorrect. 2 On the title-page we find the date, 5th Rabî’ I., 988, which apparently refers to completion of this copy.
