16S rDNA gene pyrosequencing revealed the responses of hybrid grouper to fishmeal substitution with Hermetia illucens larval meal

The intestinal microbiota plays a significant role in the health and disease resistance of hosts.However, there has been limited research on the gut microbiota of marine fish such as grouper.Black soldier fly larvae (BSFL), Hermetia illucens, are being used as a replacement for fishmeal in aquaculture diets due to fishmeal shortages, natural fish stock depletion, and the nutritional value of BSFL.This study aimed to examine the diversity and responses of the intestinal microbiota in hybrid grouper when fed diets with varying amounts of fishmeal replaced by BSFL.
