Microbiome Disruption and Defense: IBV Infection and Probiotic Intervention in Poultry

This dataset contains 16S rRNA gene sequencing data from the gut and respiratory microbiome of poultry subjected to experimental infection with Infectious Bronchitis Virus (IBV) and subsequent probiotic intervention. The study investigates the effects of viral infection on the intestinal and respiratory microbial community structure and evaluates the potential of probiotic supplementation to restore microbial balance and support host defense. Samples were collected from multiple treatment groups, including uninfected controls, IBV-infected birds, and birds receiving probiotics pre- or post-infection. This dataset supports research into host-microbiota-pathogen interactions and the development of microbiome-based strategies to enhance poultry health.
