资源简介:
Eight bulk soil samples from the Bradbury Dam slurry wall trench in the bed
of the Santa Ynez River, southern California, were floated to recover macrofloral
remains, especially potentially radiocarbon datable material. The sample from
Station 5+10 spoil also was examined for pollen and phytoliths. The Santa Ynez
River is believed to have experienced periodic episodes of swamping due to local
tectonic activity that drops the level of the river bed and slows the flow of the
river. In addition to the recovery of charcoal and other radiocarbon datable
material, pollen, phytolith, and macrofloral analyses will be used to provide
evidence for marshy environments created by the tectonic conditions.
