Replication Data for: Mapping Regionalism and Secessionism: Presenting a New Dataset of EU Regions’ Territorial Demands

The dataset offers a comprehensive electoral perspective on regionalist and secessionist movements across the European Union and the UK. It covers 374 European regions, focusing on the electoral results of non-state-wide parties (NSWPs) to analyze the occurrence and intensity of territorial demands. The dataset integrates key variables such as identity, wealth, institutional arrangements, and ideology, providing an empirical foundation for comparative studies on regional autonomy and independence claims. It categorizes territorial demands into regionalism—where political actors seek greater autonomy within an existing state—and secessionism, where the demand includes forming a new independent state.
