NRS-848 | Registers of criminal cases tried at Country Quarter Sessions

Until 1865 the registers show the prisoner's name, number of cases (within session), condition of prisoner (ie. free, free by servitude, etc.), name of vessel on which prisoner arrived, nature of offence, place and date of committal, names of Crown witnesses, names of witnesses for the defendant, date of trial, type of jury (eg. military, civil), names of chairmen of Quarter Sessions and Justices presiding, verdict and sentence delivered.From 1866 the registers do not show the following information: condition of defendant, vessel on which defendant arrived, names of Justices presiding. All registers note when cases are not proceeded with.
