Amplicon sequencing of fungal ITS1 in stool samples from patients with coronary artery disease and healthy subjects

The composition and function of the gut microbiome are strongly associated with cardiovascular disease. Here, we performed an Amplicon Sequencing of fungal ITS1 on the stools of 101 patients with different degrees of Coronary Heart Disease(CHD) and 31 healthy controls. There were significant differences in the gut fungi between healthy controls and patients with different severity of CHD. Our data provide a resource to investigate further the role of gut fungi in the study of CHD.
