Distribution of primary knowledge generating cities in the regions of Russia

Geoeconomic studies on knowledge and innovation are generally held at the regional level. Data on regions is used for creating policy instruments supporting knowledge-based economies. However, our data suggest that major cities stand behind the aggregate regional profiles.
