Bacterial assemblage in Ips bark beetles and its host.

The pine bark beetles (Ips sexdentatus, Ips accuminatus), critical pest species in pine forest ecosystems cause large scale-scale pine mortality. Current data contains life-stage (F2 lab reared) specific (L3 larvae, pupae, adult) bacterial association in both Ips beetles. It also includes the bacteriome from the beetle gallery and control pine wood (without beetle infestation). We also evaluated the freshly collected beetle (wild) associated bacteriome. Our data expands the available knowledge regarding stage-specific bacterial association and its putative functions in Ips pine beetles that might aid in beetle adaptation.
