The objective of this study was to investigate the impact of dietary sugar induced alterations in gut microbiota on cognitive development. Rodent fecal and cecal samples were analyzed using 16s rRNA sequencing. Results revealed that early life dietary sugar consumption negatively impacted hippocampal dependent learning and memory function.
