Transcriptome Profiling of Cultivated and Wild Seeds of Salvia hispanica

In this study, we performed a comprehensive transcriptome analysis of seeds from cultivated and wild varieties of S. hispanica. Transcriptome sequencing of libraries belonging to seeds of eight varieties yielded more than 230 million high-quality paired reads. The transcriptome libraries were constructed using the TruSeq RNA Library Preparation Kit (v2) and paired-end sequenced (100 pb) on an Illumina HiSeq 4000 sequencing system.
