In this observational study, we analysed a large community outbreak of impetigo with methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) MLVA-type MT4627, resistant for topical fusidic acid (first-line treatment) in the Netherlands from June 2018 through January 2020. This outbreak shows that MRSA surveillance and collaboration between multiple disciplines are of great importance in the control of large community-onset MRSA outbreaks.
