miRNomes of caprine adipose tissue

The aim is to determine the miRNomes of goat adipose tissue and identify the effects of feed deprivation on adipose miRNA profile. Overall design: Eleven lactating Alpine goats were studied at peak of lactation (48 ± 2 days postpartum, at the beginning of the experiment), a period during which AT lipids are strongly mobilized. For a 2-wk pre-experimental period, the goats were fed a standard diet of orchardgrass hay with a 35:65 forage-to-concentrate ratio. During the 48 h before slaughter, five goats received the standard diet ad libitum (control) while the others six were food deprived.
