This study aims to extract the DNA of the short-stem ginseng, perform high-throughput sequencing, and assemble annotated chloroplast sequences to obtain basic genomic information. The analysis of these genomic characteristics will enrich the theoretical research on short-stem ginseng. Complete organelle genomic data provides significant reference for phylogenetics. By studying the chloroplast genome sequences of short-stem ginseng, we can reveal its basic characteristics and phylogenetic relationships. Additionally, as the short-stem ginseng has a limited distribution and scarce wild resources in the country, genomic research is beneficial for the conservation of its natural resources and for deciphering factors that threaten its growth and reproduction, providing a theoretical basis for the development and promotion of short-stem ginseng. The analysis of the chloroplast genome base sequence of short-stem ginseng and its comparison with closely related species within the Araliaceae family will uncover DNA barcodes for species identification. This is advantageous for future research on interspecific identification, targeted breeding, and phylogenetic relationships of short-stem ginseng.
