Transcriptome profiling of Escherichia coli strains K-12 and Nissle 1917 during growth on sulfoquinovose and glucose

We performed RNA-seq of two Escherichia coli strains (K-12 MG1655 and Nissle 1917) with different versions of the yih cassette, grown on sulfoquinovose (SQ) or glucose. The study compares strain-specific transcriptional responses to growth on SQ, revealing differences in carbohydrate metabolism, stress adaptation, and regulatory programs.
