Partial discharge (PD) data collected from testing on thin film layered polymer samples, and cable sample with artificial void. Data collected in accordance with IEC 60270. Equipment Data was captured using either a using an HFCT and a LeCroy Waverunner 104Xi oscilloscope or a Lemke Diagnostics LDS-6 partial discharge measurement system. Voltage Samples were stressed under AC, positive DC, and negative DC voltages (PDIVs included). Material Thin film samples of low-density polyethylene (LDPE) and polypropylene (PP), and a sample of cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) were tested. Void Thin film samples contained 1mm voids of the following configurations. Single void – one void in the centre layer of material, parallel voids – two voids in the centre layer of the centre layer of material 1 mm apart, serial voids – two voids in each of the layers on either side of the centre layer, aligned as closely as possible. The cable sample contained a single 4 mm void. Scale Data was captured at two scales. On the scale of a single 50 Hz cycle, and the scale of individual PD pulses. Format The LDS-6 records data as .txt files, while the 104Xi records data as .csv files. Both of these are provided, as well as the data as .mat MATLAB data files.
