Clinical value of metagenomic second-generation gene sequencing technology for pathogenic microorganism identification and drug sensitivity detection in early diagnosis of peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis

The aim of this study is to investigate the ability of metagenomic next-generation sequencing (mNGS) for early pathogen detection and drug susceptibility prediction in patients with peritoneal dialysis-associated peritonitis (PDAP), and to further explore the clinical value of mNGS in patients with PDAP. Prospective randomized controlled observational studies were designed to compare the detection performance of microbial culture and mNGS, the prediction of pathogen resistance, and the impact of mNGS on clinical treatment.
