Data and Code for "ROMSOC: A regional atmosphere-ocean coupled model for CPU-GPU hybrid system architectures"

In this repository, data, scripts and code regarding the publication by Eirund et al. (2024) ROMSOC: A regional atmosphere-ocean coupled model for CPU-GPU hybrid system architectures can be found. The folder is structured as follows:

1. Scripts: this folder contains scripts used to create the plots shown in the manuscript. The scripts are written using either NCL or python. Note that some scripts contain passages written by other people, these scripts are used and published with their permission.
2. Data: the data folder contains processed model and observational data, raw model data can be accessed upon request from the authors. There are several subfolders in this folder:
- Observations: Observational processed data used in the model evaluation section of the manuscript
- Masks: masks for creating averages and distance_to_coast files used for calculations for COSMO, ROMS and ERA5
- ROMS: merged (2010-2021) processed ROMS model data
- ROMSOC: in the yearly folders, COSMO output for each year is available, in the 2021 folder in addition the merged ROMS data3. romsoc_sources: this folder contains the ROMS model code as a tar-file as well as the relevant COSMO code changes.
