Genome Sequences of Plateau Wetland Soil

This study aims to sequence and analyze metagenomes extracted from Plateau Wetland soils to systematically characterize the soil microbiota including bacteria, archaea, and fungi in this unique ecosystem. By deciphering the genomic information, we seek to uncover specific functional genes and metabolic pathways that underpin microbial adaptation to aridity. This work holds significant scientific importance as it provides key insights into the microbial drivers of wetland carbon cycling and elucidates the functional roles of these microorganisms. Furthermore, the research is critical for predicting the responses of these vulnerable yet carbon rich wetlands to climate change and for informing their conservation and restoration.
