we performed de novo transcriptome assembly and digital gene expression (DGE) profiling analyses ofN.tangutorum fruit using the Illumina RNA-seq system.Approximate 62.94 million reads were obtained andassembled into 69,306unigenes, with an average length of 587bp.These unigenes were annotated by querying against five public databases, with 42,929 and 26,809 unigenes found in the Nr and Swiss-Prot database, respectively.In further orthologous analyses, 33,363unigenes were assignedwith one or more GO terms, 15,537 hits were aligned to the 25 COGgroupsclassifications and 24,592unigenes were classified into 128 KEGG pathways.Furthermore we carried out digital gene expression analysis inthree important stages of N. tangutorum fruitdevelopment and ripening. 8,240, 5,985 and 4,994 DEGs were detected in S1-VS-S2, S1-VS-S3 and S2-VS-S3, respectively.
