Dataset and R code for: Biochar reduces soil thermal conductivity, diffusivity and volumetric heat storage: A global meta-analysis

This repository contains the dataset, R scripts, model-output tables, and figure files supporting the manuscript “Biochar reduces soil thermal conductivity, diffusivity and volumetric heat storage: A global meta-analysis”. The dataset compiles pairwise control–biochar comparisons from published studies reporting intrinsic soil thermal properties, including thermal conductivity, thermal diffusivity, volumetric heat capacity, and specific (gravimetric) heat capacity. The archive includes the harmonised dataset, final R scripts used to calculate effect sizes, fit three-level meta-analytic models, screen moderators, assess sensitivity and small-study effects, evaluate covariation among thermal properties, and generate the main figures. The files are provided to document the analytical workflow used in the manuscript and to enable independent inspection and reuse of the data and results.
