Passenger transport operations of the Austrian Lloyd (1837-1905)

This dataset provides aggregated annual data on the activity of the Lloyd Austriaco/Österreichischer Lloyd between 1837 and 1905, compiled from the company’s annual reports to shareholders. For each year, the Excel file records the total number of passengers transported, the total miles travelled, and the total number of voyages, as reported in the original printed sources. The data were extracted and standardised from the annual reports to enable the analysis of the scale and development of the company’s transport operations over time. Values reproduce the information given in the source, with only minimal normalisation applied to ensure consistency in units and formatting across the series.
