Polygala vulgaris genome sequencing

The aim of this project is to conduct comparative genomic studies in two different populations of the Polygala vulgaris species with high-throughput DNA data obtained using the next generation DNA sequencing method. It is known that the P. vulgaris species, which is the subject of the project study, has tetraploid and diploid populations. In this project, the transposon contents of individuals from both populations will be revealed for the first time. RepeatMasker and RepeatExplorer2 programs will be used for these analyses. In this way, data will be obtained for the first time on repetitive element classes that play a role in the differentiation and diversification of the genome structure of the species. Analyzes of the tetraploid population numbered AAD 20628 were completed within the scope of the master's thesis and preliminary results were shared.
