U.S. value of private transportation construction put in place 2008-2023

The value of new private transportation construction in the United States amounted to 19 billion U.S. dollars in 2023. Between 2018 and 2020, the construction spending in that segment fell two years in a row, with a particularly pronounced decreases in 2020. These activities include the construction infrastructures and facilities that are necessary for air, land, and water transportation to occur, such as air traffic towers, passenger terminals, railroads, docks, etc.
